I can't wait much longer man haha but when will the list of the top 10 automatic remix will be published on your site and where will it be published.

Kan ook net zo goed in het nederlands praten want we zijn tenslotte nederlands haha.

Maar ik ben echt benieuwd wanneer de lijst komt omdat die vandaag toch zou komen??

but in the top 10 some of the remixers have released a lot of tracks and they are already well known !

I thought the interest of the contest was making the opportunity to "grow" ... and we think our remix deserved to be in the top 10 !

We all think our remixes should be in the top 10 ;) (Me, for one, obviously included... I actually think mine should be number 1!! haha, but hey... It didn't make it that far... What you gonna do...? :))

Your argument of "some of them are well known" confuses me a bit. I actually don't know any of them. Only Randy Santino rings a bell somewhere (but where??). I already released some stuff also, but I'm not (well) known. Should I be excluded from the contest for that reason? You have been given the opportunity to work with vocals and samples of some of the greatest Dutch house artists. Everytime you produce something new, you experience new things and learn different aspects. So, you have grown ;) Or, you should have....

I'm totally with Walterfierce on this one.
I consider myself as a not so well known producer(peeps probably know me for my vocal skills(...). And I did not make into the top10, dispite the fact that me too have released trax for 20 years.

It's ok, cause we are here to learn from eachother in the end, and I now know where I should work on: My endmix :-)
Cause there were some pretty darn good and professional sounding mixes out there on Youtube!

All I Have to say is..: Don't Hate, But Appreciate!

I join funkerman.com today to vote for david beatrend and he's remix is not in the list. I seriously think thats a shame cause he's remix has originality in arrangements, use of your own sounds, sonics, no off keys, VERY FUNKY atmosphere (why do u even call yourself FUNKERMAN then, the remixes chosen are more electronic and techy) nice timing and didn't use any uncertified samples from wat i hear.. been i big fan of his work for quite a while. he use to dj at batchwood hall in uk.. very big club.

DID U EVEN LISTEN TO IT?? i'm sure i won't be the only one joining funkerman.com coz of him 2day. shame

I think its just a matter of taste.

Maybe it would be an idea to make this topic a seperate forum? Otherwise all sort of questions will get mixed. It's much easier to keep overview and you can make topics about mastering, synths (vst), music software etc... Don't you agree?

Can we put our (undownloadable?) remixes on personal pages i.e. myspace as a part of portfolio and stuff?

No, you don't have to delete your movie on youtube. For sure you are allowed to use it to impress your friends! ;)
You are free to keep it on youtube and in your portfolio, as long as you don't use it for commercial purposes.

There is a reason that your not in the top 10 (quote)

okay, I tell you something: I am not satisfied with the last 10 remixes. Because:
1. All the remixes are not in my favourite style...
2. In my opinion there is no one with a real fat commercial house remix...like the original version is
and 3. I can tell you more reasons, but:

I am not a member of the Flamingo Crew and I have not decided which 10 tracks are perfect for voting.
And the remixes for this voting are in that style, which Funkerman and the Flamingo Crew will release.
And they have had to pick up their 10 favourite remixes for the voting. And this was hard enough to decide...

...I have no problem with someone´s remix or with the decision of the Flaminog Crew. My only question is:
Can I use the parts - not for the "Automatic" remix contest - just for a new trance version of "Automatic" for me?!

And the problem that I have no favourite remix is only my problem and I don´t vote for a remix NOW!
I will hear to the 10 remixes often, and I will vote for someone I hope...but you don´t understand it?!

and sorry I don´t understand/can not write good enough english for detailed explanations...

Gast, doen het dan maar in het nederlands, want ik begrijp niet heel veel van wat je zegt.

Ik antwoord in het engels omdat er ook buitenlandse mensen op dit forum zitten en die zullen het fijn vinden dat
er engels getypt word, dan kunnen die ook evt. antwoorden geven.

''op jouw'' punt 1: Natuurlijk gaat het om smaak dat is het nou juist!, je track moet uit een goed arrangement bestaan
en het moet ook nog eens lekker klinken, (correct me if i am wrong). De één vind dit de ander vind dat,
dat zal je altijd zo blijven houden, Het is tenslotte ook een house lable.

''Op jouw'' punt 2: Een plaat kan je maken en breken, ik wil zeggen; als de track maar genoeg ''gehypt'' word dan word ie vanzelf
commercieel. Wat zeggen veel bekende dj's; ''ik wist niet dat het zo'n succes zou gaan worden'' kijk maar naar
''Put your hands up for Detroit'', dit had fedde niet zo snel verwacht. Dus kom ik weer terecht bij punt 1! Het gaat om smaak!

Ik begrijp dat je de samples voor een nieuwe remix wilt gebruiken, daar kan ik je geen antwoord op geven, (RAF zegt dat je het NIET mag gebruiken

I can not speak behave of the funkerman crew, but i think you can use the sample, but NOT for commercial purpose!
If you what to be sure check it again with Raf.

And for the rest, offcourse it's a matter taste, that's the whole point. The have to relaese the track not some one else.

In mix drums is a good factor to use reverb (sometimes long) or a little delay?

It adds more buzz on mix! When properly used?

I don't know what's the Flamingo policy on this, but usually i use delay and reverd only on small parts in beats. I think it breaks down the beat a little, but when you suddenly turn off reverb and delay again it's a nice effect, makes ur beats very concrete.

Hi Grammaticult, I use too... on same parts in beats, "FOR EXAMPLE: RETURN (A) [REVERB] & RETURN (B) [DELAYS]... Configuration for beats"

I usually use at peak of frequency "configuring automation" for more impact...and other situations (depending on the creativity of mixing)

I use more Returns for other Effect, Synth, Lead, Bass,etc...

More producers uses delay or reverb initially in the beat "regulating the intensity of Return, always remains this intensity during the whole mix" it's factor detachable??

I sometimes use reverb on soms of the hihats or percussion. In the last track I did I made my own percussion loop, and every now and then when the a little break comes in I open up the reverb and take if out again when the Kick hits again :) Gives your drums and your mix a nice boost :)

I do believe that there are absolutly NO rules when it comes to using certain FX for drums as long as the final mix is just banging !!

I completely agree, The Producer make a choice where to put the different FX, do not apply general rules

In my case, I use a transient shaper (one of my favorite vst's) in treatment on drums basically (snares / claps and hihats) It's so amazing...in Hi-Hats, I remove all release...

In percussions transient shapper remove some undesirable frequencies.

AT TECH / TRIBAL HOUSE OR MINIMAL / FUNKY TECHNO, ALL DELAYS TOOLS IS VERY IMPORTANT USE...GRAIN DELAY IS A POWERFUL TOOL xD

@alexsandrino in BASS my vst choices is "BBE SONIC SWEET, PSP AUDIOWARE VINTAGE WARMER 2, Focusrite Guitar FX Suite and some distortion VST)
