Hardware or....?
Hello....
I would like to know, do you guys when do a final mix, do you use some hardware equipment like compressors, eq's, mixers....to give it analog feel and warmth or you do all ITB with plug-ins like Waves or UAD?
Also, when you do a mix of, for example, a main lead....do you double the lead track to give it more thick and warm feeling or....?
My biggest problem is in all track is the mix, I get frustrated by it! My tracks itself sound really great with tight grooves, but I can never get the right mix, they always sound thin, missing that certain ''power'' and fullness.
I listen to those Automatic remixes....and damn, I was swept away by the sound and richness, I want to my tracks to make sound the same, quality wise, but I have a hard time getting there.
Any tip is welcome!!!
ps I noticed, when I make some really fat and wide bass lead sound in Sylenth....sounds great in stereo, but whenever I check the mix in mono, the lead sound looses some part of the frequencies, especially in the mid and high range....how to fix it? Or to be sure most of the time, should I from now on make my all bass/leads in mono, so there wont be any missing freqs?

Hi Doomcore,
We don't use a lot of outboard equipment nowadays. Our final mix is done only with the use of digital equipment. We often send our tracks for analogue mastering to a studio that only uses (analogue) gear like from Tube-Tech, Weiss, etc., to get it to sound more tight and to add some warmth and richness to it. But mastering never MAKES a mix.
For tips that kinda answers to your other questions, also take a look at these topics:

Thanks for the answer!!! =)
Tell me, are all demos uploaded on this site are listened or....? :)
Hi Doomcore,
Yes, all demos uploaded to this site are listened to. Unfortunately we are not able to personally reply to the authors because of the huge amount we receive every week. We only have correspondence with people who send us tracks that we find useful for our label or that are playable by either Fedde or Funkerman.
